Personal Statement
I am an aspiring young student-athlete that is seeking education and experience in the field of Physical Activity, Medical Practices, and Education.
Exercise Science (Science Concentration) is my first and most important major because not only does it leave many opportunities open to me, it also prepares me with the knowledge to further my education in graduate or even medical school. After my schooling, I am striving to receive a doctor of Chiropractic and become a licensed Chiropractor. Once taking a human anatomy class, I fell in love with the wonders of the human body: how it is structured, how it functions, and what complications could possibly happen. When in high school, I got tangled up in a play in a soccer match that left my writhing in pain on the ground; I had dislocated my pelvis. Immediately I was escorted from the field. Next thing I know I was on my way to a friend of the family's, who happened to be a Chiropractor, house. In one fell swoop he knew what was wrong and adjusted my pelvic region accordingly, the pain subsided immediately. It was truly amazing, and ever since then I have pushed myself to understanding the body and helping others in the best way I can.
Educational Studies is my secondary major because I am a person that looks to serve others before acting for myself. Throughout my schooling, I have always looked up to my educators for one simple reason, selflessness. Education is one of the most important aspects of human life, from the moment a child is born, the learning process begins. In my own experience, educators have so much passion to give and can truly make a difference in the lives of others. Educator have the ability to shapes personalities, gives purpose to struggling people, and they even bring us all closer together. I would be blessed to be able to call myself an educator because it is a career that does not stop in the classroom; it continues to stay with you every day for life.
